Women's Retreat 2008

Women's Retreat
"Ten Truths for Living God's Way"

October 3rd-5th, 2007 @ Lost Canyon in Williams, AZ

Hey ladies, you know how busy our schedules are. Appointments, to-do lists, working, taking care of the house, etc. Well, it’s time for a break. Join the women of Desert Springs for our annual Women’s Retreat, October 3rd-5th in the cool pines of Williams, Arizona.

This is a great opportunity to get some relaxation, and escape from the every day demands that keep us so busy. It is a chance to
recharge and get back in touch with what’s important. It is also an awesome opportunity to get to know some of the women of DSBC in a fun, friendly environment.

The retreat will be held at Young Life’s Lost Canyon Ranch in Williams. It offers women the chance to fellowship with other women and attend seminars tailored to their needs or spend quiet time alone.

The Speaker
This year’s guest speaker, Cynthia Heald will speak to us from God’s Word. Cynthia was born in Houston, Texas and has resided in Tucson, Arizona since 1977. She graduated from the University of Texas with a BA in English and married her husband, Jack in 1960. Jack, a veterinarian by profession, has been on staff with Navigators since 1978

Cynthia is a mother of four children, two girls and two boys and grandmother of nine! Some of her favorite things are sharing the Word of God, being with her husband and family, taking bubble baths , having tea parties and eating out

Special Worship Leader
JJ Heller will be leading us in Worship this year. She began her career nearly six years ago at San Jose Christian College where she dabbled in songwriting and performed at local coffeehouses. After graduating, JJ and Dave got married and relocated to Phoenix to pursue music full time. The combination of Dave's business sense and creative input, and JJ's loose artistic style drives their success. In March 2006, she independently released her third record.

Fun Stuff
The retreat also offers women the opportunity to challenge themselves physically with hikes in the forest or on the camp’s ropes course high in the treetops. During free time, shoppers can get their fix hunting for antiques in cute and historical downtown Williams.

The Rooms
Lost Canyon has five camper dorms. Rooms are available in three sizes: 10, 12 and 14 beds. There are connecting doors between rooms as well, in case you have a larger group.   Each room has bunk beds, cubbies for storage, personal restrooms (with heated floors!), hot showers and carpet.

Facilities
The facilities at Lost Canyon are first-class. Each building was uniquely designed to accommodate the needs of campers in comfort, convenience and quality. The beautiful dining room will comfortably hold all guests for table service dining. The Club Room is brand new and features an amazing sound system and theatre style seating for large groups.

Cost
Cost is $135 which includes a Friday night dinner, three meals on Saturday and Sunday breakfast.
